West Virginia is a clear champion of the simple joys of life, being outside, riding around, sitting around a campfires, spending time with friends and family. It’s as often overlooked as those simple joys. I hope to take this corner of the internet back to remind you to live and enjoy, be kind and grateful for where your at because there’s something beautiful around every corner if you look closely enough. I hope you enjoy and share the things I create here. I’m not sure where this journey will lead, but I’m excited to be here and get started.

Life now in the times of social media, news, and what feels like an endless stream of information is overwhelming and I feel has taken us further from remembering how to be in the moment and find comfort in solace. There are so many simple joys to life like watching the sunset on the porch, sitting around a bonfire on a weeknight with friends and family, going for a drive, simple moments to just sit with gratitude.

In a similar way I think West Virginia is often overlooked. As a place to live it might not have the same access as bug cities but provides so much more access to those little things. I wanted to create a.space that recognizes and celebrates that. This place has taught me to enjoy the little beautiful things in life and that it’s there for me no matter how chaotic life gets or how far I might go. It made sense to start this journey with Cheat Lake sweatshirts that are a cozy reminder of home and for anyone who has grown up here like I did, lived here through school and stayed or visited a few weekends I’m sure the lake gave you wonderful memories and now we all have access to something to serve as a reminder that it’s always here

I love to travel and explore new places and might even move to a city some day but home will always be here and I’m looking forward to this journey.

I used to spend a lot of time wishing I was in another place or at another stage in my life, not in a I hate my life kind of way but in a always day dreaming about the next thing way. Both ways are bad, but I wanted to create the space for myself and others who just want to be reminded that there are always beautiful things out there to be explored and moments to be enjoyed even thoughout every day. Growing up in West Virginia taught me this without me even knowing until I moved to California a dream of mine I used to think my life wouldn’t start until I got there. I got there and did love how beautiful it was but I didn’t realize the connection I had with West Virginia and the amount of joy experienced at home for two week in the summer because of the friends and family greatly surpassed the joy I got from the whole summer in a place where I didn’t feel a deep connection with. It didn’t make me never want to travel and possibly move from West Virginia again but it gave me a sense of gratitude and calm that I never had living at home before. I’ve spent the past few years with a new perspective just enjoying the things at home that I’ll never get tired of like going for a drive, spending time with family or going to the lakehouse. I might’ve felt guilty for these things years ago, but they’re just as important to.
